    Why does paper run such a bad photo of governor?

    Why do you people always use the worst picture of our governor that you can find to use in your paper? You always seem to use better pictures of his opponents. Not prejudiced, are you?

    Where should we draw line on slippery slope?

    Without a "classified briefing" about events in Syria, I lack the ability to have my questions answered or to make a truly informed judgment. I am reminded, however, of the events leading up to World War II and of how letting an evil get away with violating international norms and law only led to much greater troubles going forward.

    Too many able-bodied park in handicapped spots

    The other day I was at a local store waiting to check out and a couple of young women were in front of me. They had two carts of items, and I noted that they had a lot of groceries. One of them said they were shopping for a group home.

    Syrian chemical weapons could be from Iraq

    President Barack Obama seems to have a lot of support to strike the Syrian military in response for its chemical weapons attack on its own civilians. The method of intervention for the U.S. in a foreign civil conflict is always a tricky one, but obviously the Syrian government crossed the line.

    Veterans shouldn’t have to battle for help they need

    While attending Windsor Fair to see our nephew in the lawn tractor pulling event, a group of veterans sat in front of us. Each of these veterans had lost a limb, or multiple limbs, in our recent war.

    Columnist shouldn’t boast about cutting pensions

    Would Dan Demeritt (commentary, "If LePage channels his passion appropriately, GOP in good shape," Sept. 2) still sing the praises of the governor's accomplishments, including "billions saved in public pension obligations," if his Social Security benefits were cut?
