Gays, lesbians are treated like black people in movie
I recently saw the movie, "The Butler," which is primarily about the civil rights movement in the 1950s and '60s. I felt sick, watching how the black people were treated in those days.

How can we afford bombs, but not schools, roads?
I keep talking with people, and I keep receiving emails: Everyone seems so full of dread as we prepare to bomb yet another country about which we know hardly anything. Everyone is saying, "Please, please, not another war." "Please, no more bombing."

Redistribution of wealth idea didn’t start with Obama
It's amazing the overwhelming concern regarding socialism in this country. The redistribution of wealth is not a new idea invented by the Obama administration. Examples can be traced back to John Adams, who even though he was opposed to paying taxes to King George, had no problem taxing the colonists of their every possession to pay for the war. Even those who were still loyal to the crown paid these taxes.

Finally, recognition for WWII pilot from our area
This letter is about one of South China's finest. Alfred Kramer, a World War II B-17 pilot, was shot down over France returning from a bombing raid on Germany. The French resistance aided him in a safe return to England.
