Replica of Casco schoolhouse destroyed by arson will open Sunday

More than a year after 2 men set fire to the historic Old Quaker Ridge Schoolhouse, a replica has been built in a new location.

Cash has been taken from multiple stands selling campfire wood in Casco, Standish and Naples this summer, police say.

The donation, generated by a restaurant chain’s fundraiser, is the largest in the nonprofit’s history.

The two-vehicle collision early Monday evening shut down the intersection of routes 11 and 121 for about an hour.

The 57-year-old victim was trapped in the snow for up to an hour and was being treated for hypothermia in Lewiston.
