Officials rush to document flooding along Kennebec River in central Maine as outages, fallout persists
U.S. Geological Survey crews are in a rush against time, and the elements, to document as precisely as possible how high floodwaters got in the recent flooding, to provide data for a number of future planning purposes.

State grant program helps central Maine communities meet climate goals
The Community Resilience Partnership was started in December 2020 to assist towns by providing technical and planning assistance and up to $50,000 to fund projects that align with the state’s climate goals to reduce carbon emissions and transition to clean energy.
Hallowell councilors give initial approval to flavored tobacco ban
