I am pleased to support Patsy Crockett, Democratic candidate for House District 57, the seat she held very effectively from 2006 to 2010.

Rep. Sharon Treat, Democratic candidate for House District 79, has represented the citizens of Hallowell and central Maine with energy, enthusiasm, grace and wisdom for many years.

Among the many qualified candidates in this fall’s election, there may be none more deserving than Rep. Pat Flood, Republican candidate for Maine Senate District 21.

In Monmouth, a small group gathered signatures to get a warrant placed on the ballot, that would almost totally ban consumer fireworks in Monmouth.

This election offers Winthrop and Readfield residents an opportunity to elect a proven community leader and, importantly, someone who can contribute to improving health care in our state.

I was saddened to see Lakeside Orchard caught up in political hysteria.

Two articles in the paper on Oct. 22 were about child abuse and one about domestic violence. These are issues I care about. One of the reasons for these problems is lack of education.
