At the recent public forum, I heard how strong of an advocate Robert Eric Austin is for education in Augusta. I agreed when he said a “robust education program is a critical element in the bedrock foundation of our democracy.”

Augusta citizens are rightfully wary when it comes to tax increases. However, as Austin put it eloquently, “it is reasonable to expect that costs associated with the school budget will increase, just as the cost of materials, energy, labor, etc. go up.” Other candidates claim to seek improvement in services, but falsely promise no increase in cost or investment to do so.

Austin continued, “It’s important to assess all areas of the operation and budget to ensure we are striving to achieve the best outcomes.” It’s clear that measured thinking applies to Austin’s approach for all decisions relevant to the city of Augusta.

Enthusiastically, Robert Eric Austin has my vote!
